: Even with a rainy start to the day - the
Late Model Mustang Club of
CT 's spring cruise was an amazing success!
Despite morning showers, over 50 cars and more than 100
people came out to enjoy the day. People came from as
far as NY and MA down to the Berlin Turnpike for a ride in
the CT countryside to the UConn Dairy Bar, and then to
XXTuning for a cookout
as well as a demonstration of how the Dynapacks work - and a
1/4 mile pass on the Mustang dyno by a 2003 Cobra!
We met again at the Toys 'R Us parking lot
and due to the volume of cars, we were able to get a police
escort out of the parking lot - my thanks to 5-0 Vic for
making the arrangements with the local police department!
After a great scenic cruise we ended up at the UConn dairy
bar where members took pictures, got time to chat with other
members, and then the club treated all of the members to ice
cream for the day. The ride out to Uconn and back was
full of people staring, turning their heads in amazement as
the pack of horsepower went by - one girl even picked up the
phone and called someone and was pointing to all of the cars
as they went by....a very cool thing.
Once back at XXTuning the weather began to
break in time for Chris and the guys in the shop to give an
instructional tuning session on a 2001 Cobra - explaining
how the Dynapacks operate and what is changed during a
tuning session (the cobra netted over 30rwhp as well!).
Next up was a spin on the Mustang Dyno where you can
simulate your time down the dragstrip - a very cool option
of the Mustang Dyno! The 03 Cobra easily spun the
rollers to a 12sec ET - spinning like crazy with the tires
fighting to get traction.
After the demonstrations, everyone enjoyed
a nice barbecue which ended with a special surprise for one
of our sponsors - Jamie from Corky's Auto Parts who
celebrates his birthday this week so it was cake for
everyone! The event was exclusive to club members -
but a select few potential new members were welcome to join
us and all seemed to have a great time and have discovered
the benefits of being a
LMMC-CT club member - your membership $ goes a long
way!!
My thanks to everyone who assisted during
the day and to all of the club members for making it such a
successful event! |
